In May of 1989, Paul's wife needed a daily vehicle so with Paul being a Ford man, they went out and bought their first Mustang. This GT was brand new with 7 mile son the odometer. Paul's wife drive the GT for over 10 years and put on over 145,000 miles. In October of 1999, Paul's wife got a new daily vehicle so this Ford Mustang became his project car.
With help from their 2 sons, they took the old stock 1989 GT and made it was you see today. First modification on this Stang was a new exhaust system. From there a 5-lug conversion was done. Since one modification just entices people to do another, the suspension then received some upgrading. In November of 2000, Paul started cleaning up the engine bay by welding up the existing holes, hiding wires and vacuum lines, repainted the engine bay and polished every piece of aluminum that was on the engine or in the engine bay. Paul also decided with the car having 150,000 miles on the odometer, he would rebuild the 1989 302 engine. Two years later in November, Paul decided the stock paint needed some touch-up so he had the whole car repainted and also revisited the work under the hood of this GT. Paul re-routed brake lines and did some more hiding of wires.

One of the best ways to get extra horsepower out of your Pony is to add one of the Mustang tuners from the guys over at Bama Custom Tuning.
