Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid

Do I need this thing it was hangin on the firewall hooked to the upper intake but who had the car before me unhooked the wire from it for some reason. To remove just cut the hose and plug the connection on the intake??? Thanks

i'd have to see it to be able to say for sure. mine doesn't have a vapor canister anymore, but i don't recall what i did with the connections associated with it.
