88GT 5 lug Cobra rear disc E brake Question

My fox was converted, by Lou, to 5 lug and rear discs. Its got 96-04 Cobra brakes all around. I was looking at the E brake cable the other day and it appears to not have any adjustment to it. When I pull the handle the e brake does absolutely nothing but he rear caliper moves. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I saw some thing on the corral about having to modify the handle, spring and tack weld something. Is there another method? It sux to have to pull the car in and out of the garage with a wheel chalk and bring it with me because my driveway is sloped...lol Thanks!

Can't be that much difference between your car and mine, other than Cobra brakes. I'll look at my setup when I'm under the GT Saturday.

Sorry for the delay. I didn't see anything underneath the car for adjustment, the only other thing I could think of was to take out the center console and look at the e-brake assembly. Sorry I couldn't help Anthony.

Do you have the sn95 bracket from a junk car installed?

Are you sure calipers are not moving?

The e-brake portion of the calipers could be fubared, & the calipers still work normally. I had to replace the ones on my '94 due to that years ago

Thanks Carl! No big deal

Witch bracket Joe? The calipers are working. the cable just doesn't pull them tight.

It's the bracket that holds the e-brake cables that you need from junk car so that the e-brake works. I'll snap a photo later.

88GT 5 lug Cobra rear disc E brake Question

Sn95 cars have a bracket on both sides of the trans tunnel that have a wheel in them to allow the ebrake cable to move. Also the cobra rear calipers are the same as the gt they just have a bigger mounting bracket to accommodate the bigger rotor size

Is it the same between the V6 and GT cars? I'll have to see Joe's pix to see what your talking about

Anytime I've had to adjust my e-brake I did it in the handle under the console. There is a gear and a spring you have to turn to adjust to re-tension the cable. There is no adjustment on the calipers.
