American Muscle/Mishimoto

Update: Now the FOURTH one is bad. Leaking in the same area as the first 3. Here is the most recent response from Mishiimoto when I asked for $ back rather than a replacement.

"Due to the chassis set up of the Mustang the front end flexes quite a bit. When a thicker aluminum radiator is introduced, unfortunately, the chassis flex pull the radiator apart. We are seeing this across the board with competitors units as well. However, we are the only to offer a lifetime warranty."

Flexes quite a bit? I'm not at the track. I am driving up and down rte 100 and 422.
I would love to just forget it and buys omething else but don't have the $ to do so. I guess I'll get one more from them.

Went through 2 Mishimoto radiators in less than 5000 miles combined. Mishimoto replaced them. The first time I had no problem paying shipping for the replacement. But when that replacement lasted only about 1000 miles I think they could have AT LEAST sent it for free. It's only $10 but it is the principle of it really
And while this has little to do with Amer Musc I am holding them at fault as well b/c I originally ordered the 1st one through them. They are not willing to stand by this product failure either. They offered to give me a $10 credit to make up for the shipping I had to pay. woohoo, no thanks. I just ordered some parts from LMR.

I have never had a problem with American Muscle, however, i have heard that Mishimoto products are absolute garbage. There has been quite a few posts about members complaining about the quality.

It may be unfair for me to include AM in this, they just sold me the 1st one.
Let's just hope this 3rd one lasts.

I wouldnt say its unfair, but American Muscle sold you the original product. They should probably have a talk with the vendor rep. Maybe then Mishimoto would have some better quality control

Mishimoto said they couldn't do anything more than replace it b/c it could have been installed wrong or the leak could have been caused by improper driving or the car twisting...... unlikely on my daily commute down the turnpike to Exton. Oh well. I just wanted to ***** a little.

And yes, I hope AM rethinks their relationship with Mishimoto.

Sounds to me like they got their bases covered. Installed wrong? Improper driving? Car twisting?????? Sounds like Kenne Bell. They gave me every excuse in the book on why their parts failed.

Nope. Both have been working great for me. I know they had problems with the 2 core radiaters but I have the 3 Coors and it works great so far.

I think the issue may have been solved with the new "stabilizer" system they rolled this out this past week. They basically took mount's and created more of a floating radiator, i think this will cause less damage in the rad's because they are not flexing with the chassis.

Mishi handles their own returning/warranty issues, no mater who it was purchased through.

Exactly, mish has their own policies which no questions asked you get a new item warranty. Working for AM we just give the customer the info for mishi that's all we're allowed to do.

Next time spend the money and buy a ford rad.. Problem solved.. Find AM is selling more and more cheap stuff, guess that's the market now cause nobody wants to pay the price for quality parts. That said never had any issue with them as a company, just the inferior parts that some of the vendors make.. I've been dealing with them since they were selling stuff out of the back of a computer place on rt.3 near Devon.. That was many many years ago..
