removing trans from a 4.6 2v w/ long tubes

Working on a buddy's 00 gt, and I'm trying to take the tr3650 trans out, got it seperated from the motor but now I'm stuck because it's hitting the longtube headers. Anyone else ever run into this? How'd did you get around them? Pull the bell and the fork off?

You can't pull the bell off a 3650, they are bolted from inside. You have to remove the passenger side long tube, which involves dropping or at least lowering the k member
