Timing Retarder?

Does anyone have a suggestion on what kind of timing retarder to use? I recently put nitrous on an 84 GT that is carbed. It has a mechanical advance distributor and I would like to not have to lock it out if I don't have to. I also don't want to have to manually change the timing every time that I want to spray. I looked a an MSD 8680 but it says the distributor needs to be locked out. Any suggestions??

If you do not have an msd box.I would recommend the MSD Digital 6 and will do what you are looking for.

The Mallory 685 also works great. I've ran them in lots of cars, run one in my car, no pills, all digital...we even use that in the mud truck which makes over 1000hp on the jug
