Wheel Issue

Has anyone had any trouble running 245 45 17's on a 1985/86 GT? Mine seem to be rubbing on the strut and only have a sliver of room in between the strut and the rim.The car has been sitting for 3-4 years and I'm not sure if the struts are collapsed of its just too wide of a tire to use without wheel spacers.

that tire size should not be a problem on your vehicle.

are you running the 87-93 spindles? ive heard there can be clearance issues with the older spindles and aftermarket wheels.

On my streetcar my 8.5s rub the controll arm and I did put in a set of rack limiters which did help but it sounded like they were rubbing again this past weekend. This is only on hard turns.

they are a tight fit even w/ the newer 87 + spindles but they work. We just put a set of my 17's on rsstangs 85 GT. Got a set of 87+ spindles if you go that route.
